DWARKA UNDERWATER HAS BEEN FOUND:
When I first became a devotee & moved into the ashrama, I read the story where Dwarka gets flooded & goes underwater. At that time, there was no evidence, just faith in ancient Vedic literatures as translated by the pure devotee Srila Prabhupada. And that's all I need. However, since than, there has been physical proof. Archeologists have actually discovered it! Some devotees probably all ready know this, but not everyone does. Besides, it is always fresh. When I saw this video short, it moved me. Actually I watched quite a few of these 'shorts.' They were all moving to me, but that's just me. Hmmm Helpful idea is to blow them up in size [small square at upper right hand corner]. Anyhow, in Krishna book we read of the detailed, fancy city of Dwarka, with staircases and deities and sculpture all around. That is what they eventually discovered!
Beautiful music too: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/znz0HyB5bRA
Now, some wonder if the above is A.I. Upon my first few viewing of these types, I did not know that, because I already knew the discovery to be factual. If it does turn out to be A.I. than the content creator is doing a disservice IMHO, or at least should state it outright. Maybe they have good intention but are creating uncertainty. If they typed something like: "This is what it may be like, transport yourself along," that would be fine. Anyhow, please know there have been REAL archeological ocean digs that genuinely found Krishna's Dwarka. I leave the above link because it gives a mood, but I add the next one "proving" the underwater discovery of Dwarka to be a genuine archeological and historical find:
The following is not a vid short; it's about 11 minutes and for those interested in scientific or archeological evidence and nomenclature. It is similar to an India/n News Cast, tho probably a youtube one. Anyway, it is very well done. Readers who don't want to watch it all can watch part of it to get the idea. She has a thick accent but is speaking English, so either learn how to listen fast :) or take note of the written words the content creator put on screen. It IS worth it!
My only issues are the use of the words 'myth,' 'idol,' and 'death of Krishna.' I will do my best to clarify these:
In India it has become common to use the term "mythology" or myth, by Hindus - yet they remain believers in Krishna. So what's up with that? I don't know for certain but one theory I have is based on one of my experiences.
Once a sweet Hindu girl I was emailing and preaching to for some time, sent me an email saying: "I have a doubt." I thought: "Oh no, she is loosing faith!" We went back and forth with a few emails and I discovered she was not loosing faith at all. She meant she has a 'question.' :) Therefore, sometimes the definitions are slightly different when English is not the first language.
I am inclined to put the use of the word 'idol' in a similar category. Whereas in the West, particularly due to many at least reading the Bible which warns of idolatry or golden calf's - the use of the word 'idol' takes on a different meaning than it probably does in India. Tho this topic now goes into, "What is a Vedic deity?" Too much to put here, but the short version is:
A Vedic deity is not a concocted idea or man man concept. Rather, they are instructions given directly within ancient scripture: How the deity is to be made, what the deity is to look like, and so on, are all there. Next, special mantra's or prayers are chanted by brahmana's/priests asking God to enter the deity form. And that it for now. :)
Last issue: 'death of Krishna.' Krishna cannot die. He did "disappear," by choice. God never dies. He is eternal. But He can choose to leave our presence. We can regain that thru mediation. In kali yuga (the age we live in now) mantra-meditation is the recommended method.
With all that said, by the end of the video, this lady clarifies this is not a myth and Krishna is God - plus gives a lot of archeological and historical facts. :)
